Londoners Looking To Purchase Property In Manchester City Centre According To Rightmove.

A recent report from the Rightmove property portal has shown that Manchester is the most popular location for Londoners looking to relocate elsewhere in the country.

Testimony to the increasing popularity of the Northern Powerhouse cities, Liverpool was the third most popular location for people seeking to relocate outside of the capital.

Birmingham was second on the list, with the more traditional commuter destinations of Chelmsford and St Albans also in the top five.

Recent years have seen an increase in the numbers of people looking to move up north to destinations such as Manchester and Liverpool, as property prices in London have proven increasingly prohibitive for first time buyers in particular.

Recent statistics from the Rightmove portal are now showing that average property prices in London are £593,972. In comparison, the average asking price in Manchester in 2019 is just £200,000.

At the heart of this increase in demand for property in Manchester city centre have been the popular destinations of Castlefield, Salford Quays and the Northern Quarter.
