Located eight miles to the North of Manchester city centre, Bury is, literally, the end of the line for the Metrolink. The journey into Manchester Piccadilly takes about 25 minutes. Bury also has an extensive local bus service - and a heritage railway. The former makes it easy to get to other key local destinations such as Rochdale and Bolton.
Although modern Bury is still very much a market town, it’s also very much a commuter town. It’s especially popular with families due to the combination of good schools (primary and secondary), reasonably-priced housing and effective transport.

Say the word “Bury” and the words which are most likely to come to mind are “market” and “black pudding”. Both are very much still applicable. Bury also has general retail facilities, especially the Mill Gate shopping centre. Bury’s other major attractions are its sports grounds and green spaces plus easy access to the superb local countryside.
