Around five miles SouthWest of Manchester city centre, Sale is on the Metrolink and journey time to Manchester city centre is about 15 minutes. It’s about 20 minutes to Altrincham where there are onward connections to Stockport and Chester. Sale also has numerous local buses, excellent road connections and convenient access to Manchester Airport.
Most of the demand in Sale comes from families due to its excellent early years' facilities, primary schools and secondary schools. There is, however, also some demand from young professionals, who want somewhere a bit quieter than the city centre.
Just over 5 miles south of Manchester city centre, Sale is a popular suburb of Trafford with a great choice of schools, leafy suburban streets, and a busy town centre. You’ll be a short drive from the Trafford Centre’s many restaurants, shops, and attractions too.
With impressive links to motorways, the Metrolink, and Manchester airport, Sale is a great place to live, raise a family, and commute from. No wonder it was named the fourth “most desirable place to live in the UK” in 2017!
The Bridgewater Way canal runs through the centre of Sale, giving residents a unique range of water-related activities to choose from (a rarity in Greater Manchester!). You could join the Trafford Rowing Club, or enjoy some water sports on the man-made lake at Sale Water Park.
Sale has plenty of places to get your shopping done, whether it’s groceries, clothes, toiletries, or something a bit different. The shopping centre is home to well-known brands and a few independent names too. There are a number of play areas, parks, and soft play areas for the kids, and several churches and religious centres for different denominations.
When it comes to evening entertainment, the Waterside Theatre hosts visiting plays, bands, and comedy nights. There are also plenty of family pubs and locals dotted around the area.
It’s not difficult to find a quick snack or a sit down meal in Sale. The Bean & Brush Family Art Cafe is the perfect place to have a coffee and do some crafts. There’s also a choice of independent Italians, Indians, British bistros, and grills.
All the usual chains are present and correct too, including Subway, Caffe Nero, Costa, and Greggs.
