Urmston is located within Trafford in Manchester. It incorporates several small towns including Flixton, Davyhulme and Dumplington as well as Urmston itself. It is found approximately 6 miles south-west of Manchester city centre giving residents great opportunities to enjoy the area and the close proximity of the city.
Urmston has early medieval origins and the town was transformed by the introduction of the railways. It is now one of the major urban areas in Trafford and has undergone periods of modernisation and redevelopment to ensure it has lots to offer.
One of the main attractions for residents of Urmston is the nearby Trafford Centre, which is found in Dumplington. It is a huge shopping centre with a whole host of shops, restaurant and other types of entertainment as well as ample parking.
Closer to home is Eden Square, a new retail and leisure facility in the centre of Urmston which includes supermarkets, shops, restaurants and regular events. For entertainment, the Urmston Leisure Centre not only boasts sporting facilities, it also include the fabulous Poolside Theatre and St Clements Church on Manor Avenue has also become a venue for concerts and special events.
To meet friends, socialise and have fun, there are a variety of places to eat and drink in Urmston. There are a good number of traditional restaurants, cafes and pubs to enjoy without breaking the bank. For something more international, there are Italian, Indian and Turkish restaurants, as well as the TripAdvisor 5 star recommend restaurant Santorini which specialises in Greek cuisine.
